Darmstatter hopes to narrow list soon

New Jersey tight end Jarrett Darmstatter has enjoyed the recruiting process up to this point, but he isn't trying to drag it out longer than it needs to last.
The 6-foot-4, 241-pound senior from Barnegat is hoping he's able to trim his list down significantly before the end of September.

"I'd like to narrow it down by the end of this month sometime. By the end of September I'd like to have it down to no more than four or five schools," Darmstatter said.
He added that he is not intent on taking all of his official visits, instead opting to take a wait-and-see approach with that.
"I might (take officials), but I'm not sure yet," he said. "I'm still waiting for a little while. We don't have our first game until (September) 17."
With September 1 here, Darmstatter knows that it's inevitable that recruiting will pick up for the foreseeable future. Over the past couple of days he has been talking to coaches from the schools recruiting him over the phone. Many have asked him if he plans on setting official visits up, but his answer has been the same -- he hasn't made any plans yet.
