Darity excited to be a Heel

Just a day after giving a verbal commitment to John Bunting and North Carolina, offensive guard Calvin Darity reflected on his decision.
Darity, rated the No. 1 offensive guard in the nation and a member of the Rivals100 team, chose the Tar Heels over Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, Nebraska and others, giving the Heels their biggest offensive line recruit in years. Why did he choose Chapel Hill?

"I just knew it was where I should be after the visit," he said. "A lot of people down here have reminded me that they didn't win many games the last two years, but the Carolina coaches were real good about talking about UNC's tradition. They've won a lot of games, been to a lot of bowls and put a lot of players into the NFL. They even have more 1,000 yard rushers than any other school. They want to get back to that, and told me I would be the beginning of it.
"The school is one of the best in the country and Chapel Hill is a real, real nice college town. There's a lot to do and it's the type of place you dream of living in for four years. It's going to be a very good experience for me."
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound guard from Tallahassee (Fl.) Lincoln has been noted for his agility and potential as a versatile lineman.
