Darby puts decision on hold

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep tight end Octavius Darby was planning to make a college decision soon after his official visits were wrapped up, but he’s opted for a different approach.
“I’m just going to wait until signing day and make my decision then,” he said. “I’m really not sure right now, so I don’t want to do anything. I’ll just wait it out and see who sticks with me.”

Asked who was in the running, he said: “N.C. State, Miami and Iowa… and those are in no order at all. They’re all even.”
N.C. State’s John “Doc” Holliday made an in-home visit with Darby on Wednesday night.
“He just left a few minutes ago,” Darby said. “It went well. We had another good talk. Nothing really new came up, but he just wanted to make sure that I knew they were still real serious about me.”
Darby (6-4, 225, 4.65) is rated the No. 8 eight end in the nation by Rivals.com. As a senior, he caught 17 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns.
