THE LATEST: Daniels has a top five of Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, but Miami, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss are three schools outside his top five still in the running. He has an official visit scheduled to Oklahoma (Nov. 20), and he is talking to Alabama about taking an official visit in late November or early December. He is also planning to announce his college commitment in early December, and he says he will probably take official visits after he makes his decision. Ohio State is one program trying to schedule his official visit after the season. Over the weekend he was in Ann Arbor, Mich., for his official visit to Michigan.
IN HIS WORDS: On his Michigan visit: "I really, really liked it to be honest. It was my first time actually going to see a game at the Big House, so I was real shocked and excited watching it and how big it was and how many people were there. That's the team I grew up loving when I was younger. That was my childhood school. Even just being around the coaches and the people it really felt like it was family there."
On the Michigan defensive line: "Then also the d-line how grimy they get is like Trinity's d-line and how we are. They don't sit back and read, they go out and fire off the ball as hard as they can. I really liked that about them."
RIVALS' REACTION: Daniels has been talking with his family and praying about his decision and it looks like things are beginning to come into focus. At this time, he he has not declared a leader for his commitment in early December, but it is clear the Michigan Wolverines made a very strong impression over the weekend. Growing up he was a fan of the Wolverines and he has ties to the area. He has not said it, but my prediction right now is Michigan.
