Daniels is a jack of all trades

He’s listed as an athlete, but Pensacola (Fla.) Tate standout Tommy Daniels could also be listed as a quarterback, a free safety or a receiver. You see Daniels, who is 6-foot and 200 pounds, is a jack of all trades.
“I’d love to play a different position than quarterback in college,” Daniels said.

“Being the quarterback was a big deal when I was a little more immature. I’m just an athlete now. I’ve played running back, receiver, quarterback and safety here in high school. My high school team needs me at quarterback, so that’s what I’m playing.”
Yet his lone scholarship offer from Air Force has come from him playing option quarterback.
“I’m a good option quarterback,” he said. “Air Force offered me early and wants me to p lay quarterback. Other schools in the South probably want me more as an athlete. But I’m a very smart quarterback, and I know what the defense is going to do in advance.”
The other teams that have showed him the most interest at this point are Navy, Southern Miss and Florida.
“I’m really hoping to hear from Southern Miss and Florida after September 1,” he said. “I actually talked to a Florida recruiter when they called in May. That’d be really good if those guys called again.”
