Daniels enjoys Pittsburgh trip

Three-star strongside defensive end Brandon Daniel from Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely wrapped up his second official visit last weekend and had a good trip. After visiting Pitt, he now has two more visits planned and is working to set up his fifth and final visit.
“It went good,” he described his latest trip. “The city and campus stood out a lot. I liked all of the facilities and the fields.” He was hosted by freshman linebacker Clint Session and rated the trip a “7 or 8”.

This was his second trip, after visiting Virginia Tech on Sept. 27, and said the experience was better than his first trip.
“It was close to the same, but this weekend a lot of recruits were there, and I had more contact with coaches,” he explained. “When I visited Tech, I was more by myself.” He has visits set for NC State on Dec. 5. and Kansas State on Dec. 19, and his final visit will be between Florida, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
Daniel currently has three in-home visits planned. Pitt was in tonight (Charlie Partridge), Tuesday he will host NC State (“Doc” Holliday), and Wednesday Virginia Tech (Charley Wiles) will visit.
“I am looking for somewhere that is comfortable, a good program and campus, and a place that will be playing for a national championship in a couple of years,” he commented. “I also want a place that gets a lot of attention from the pros.” He plans to wait until signing day to announce his decision.
Daniel is rated the No. 17 strongside defensive end in the nation by Rivals.com. He is 6-foot-4, weighs 250 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds. He is unsure of his tackles as a senior, but ended the season with 10 ½ sacks.
He projects as a full qualifier with a 2.8 GPA and a 930 on the SAT. He plans to major in either business management or marketing.
