Daniel making travel plans with Gators

Rivals250 defensive end Elijah Daniel of Avon, Ind., took his first official visit of the recruiting process earlier this month to Marshall. Now, the Clemson commit is close to setting official No. 2 with the Florida Gators.
"I talked to Coach [Bryant] Young today and it looks like I will be going to Florida for an official visit next weekend," Daniel said. "I'm going to call him tomorrow and figure out some more information."

Florida is scheduled to play LSU in Gainesville next weekend. It will be Daniel's second time seeing a game in the Swamp. Last year he attended the Gator's home matchup with Alabama, and he's looking for more of the same on this upcoming visit.
"I want to see everything I saw when I went down there and more," Daniel said. "I want to see everything from academics to strength and conditioning and all the little details. If it's going to be the place I go to school, then I am going to have to consider everything."
Daniel still maintains his commitment to Clemson, but noted that it is a soft verbal at this stage of the process. He continues to keep up with their coaching staff weekly, and had his last conversation with them a week ago.
More schools are being considered for future official visits, with Mississippi State, Arizona State, Ole Miss and Miami identified by Daniel as programs he has been talking with recently.
"There have not been any [visit] dates thrown around," Daniel said. "I'm just getting to know the coaches a little bit more and we're just building a relationship."
This coming weekend Daniel plans to head over to Purdue on an unofficial visit to see the Boilermakers host Marshall. Daniel's older brother, Armonze, plays defensive end for Marshall.
The final season of Daniel's prep career is moving along in the meantime. Avon High is 4-2 on the season. And the 6-foot-4, 249-pound Daniel registered two sacks and six tackles in last week's game.
