Daniel looking for Pac-12 powers

Jacob Daniel might be one of the top 2015 prospects in California's loaded class and plenty of offers have already come in for the defensive lineman from Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound recruit said despite all his early offers, he's still hoping for two Pac-12 powerhouses to get in the mix as his junior season gets underway.

"I really still kind of want to hear from USC and Oregon," Daniel said.
"I've talked to coach (Ed) Orgeron and I guess the Oregon coaches have talked to my coach but that's pretty much the most I've heard from both of those schools."
So far, Daniel has been offered by Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawaii, Houston, Iowa, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Washington State and Wisconsin.
Since it's still so early, and he's hoping to hear more from the Trojans and the Ducks, Daniel said he doesn't have any frontrunners yet. Those could be named toward the end of his junior campaign.
"I'm not really sure about favorites," Daniel said.
"I haven't really thought about it yet. Toward the end of the season I should be ready to have a top five or a top seven. I'm going to wait through my junior season."
At this point, Daniel, who said Alabama has backed off recently, is focused on a big season. Powerhouse Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco hosts Clovis North on Sept. 6 and the standout 2015 defensive lineman said he's getting ready for an important year.
"I'm just starting to get myself in optimal shape for the season," Daniel said.
"I want to win a state championship. I'm really looking forward to playing St. John Bosco so that should be really cool."
