Daniel lands SEC offer

Jacob Daniel has already picked up numerous offers but when he heard Tuesday night that Tennessee had decided to come through with an offer the 2015 defensive tackle was completely shocked.
The Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North standout, arguably one of the top players in California's loaded 2015 class, had not been hearing much at all from the Volunteers but the new offer is definitely one to seriously consider.

"It was a total surprise," Daniel said. "My coach had talked to them (Tuesday) and they offered me a scholarship. It was kind of crazy.
"They had watched my film and the offer was based off my film. I was able to give (defensive line) coach (Steve) Stripling a call after I left practice."
The call was introductory but Daniel talked with Stripling and so the recruiting process has gotten underway. The 2015 prospect said he's definitely going to take a close look at Tennessee's program in the coming years.
"He was just saying he wanted me to learn more about the program and really consider them," Daniel said.
"He said he'd be recruiting me hard over these next couple years so I can expect that from him. They're going to be recruiting me hard."
So far, Daniel has been offered by Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawaii, Houston, Iowa, Miami, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Washington State, Wisconsin and now Tennessee.
The Vols are under high consideration.
"That's huge," Daniel said. "That's the first one from the SEC. That's the best football conference. They've all won championships. That's huge."
