Once Jacob Daniel visited Washington this past summer, the 2015 defensive tackle knew it could be the place where he goes to college.
Last week, the Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North four-star standout made his choice to commit to the Huskies over many other big-time offers.
"I made the decision on Tuesday," Daniel said. "We just kind of assessed everything and what would be the best fit for me, where would I be the happiest, and we made the decision."
Daniel's trip this past summer to Washington seemed like a game-changer in his recruitment. The Fresno Clovis North recruit said he loved his time in Seattle and has developed a great relationship with the Huskies' coaching staff.
It went so well, Daniel said that he didn't want to return home.
"When I went up there I loved it this summer for the camp," Daniel said. "I didn't want to come back and it's a good education and the coaches are good and everything. It was just the perfect trip. Ever since they offered me they've been on me pretty hard."
The commitment is huge for Washington, especially since Daniel is one of the most heavily-recruited prospects in California's 2015 class.
So far, Daniel has offers from Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawaii, Houston, Iowa, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, Utah, Washington State and Wisconsin, but the Huskies won out.
"I'm probably going to look at a few other schools, but for the most part I don't see myself changing my mind," Daniel said.
