Daniel focused on two powerhouses

Jacob Daniel just returned from his weekend trip to Oregon and the four-star defensive tackle said he's basically narrowed his list to two schools.
The Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North standout said his recruitment has come down to USC and Oregon and he plans to make his decision before the summer starts.

"It's between them and SC," Daniel said. "I need to make my mind up. I'm down to those two.
"I want to make it before the summer starts. If not before the summer starts then I want to make it before the season."
That is especially big news for the 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect because he has almost every offer across the country and has only recently trimmed down his extensive list.
Oregon definitely made up a lot of ground after this past weekend. Daniel said he loved his trip to Eugene and the Ducks are right in the mix.
"It was fun," Daniel said of Oregon. "They showed me around and I saw the facility which was really impressive and I got to see the campus. I met the coaches and there are so many good people there, I really enjoyed myself.
"I went to the spring game and I was signing autographs. It was a pretty cool experience."
The Fresno Clovis North recruit said Oregon's facilities were outstanding but that will not play a role in his decision. More important than anything, Daniel said, is how he feels about both places, where he feels most comfortable and how he sees himself fitting in the defense.
"That's not going to factor into my decision because everybody has nice facilities," Daniel said. "It was really nice though but that's not going to be a factor.
"It's going to be how comfortable I feel at the place."
Daniel has also taken a few trips to USC. He is originally from Carson, Calif., and has said playing at USC would be something of a homecoming for him.
