Daniel could be done by Christmas

Three star defensive end Brandon Daniel of Pompano Beach (Fla.) is headed down the home stretch of his recruitment. Daniel has taken three of his five official visits already, and now he is trying to fix his schedule so that he can be done with visits by Christmas, with a holiday decision in store.
“I just got back from NC State,” Daniel explained.
“I might go to Florida this weekend. I am scheduled to visit Gainesville in January, but I have this weekend open. I have Kansas State lined up for December 19th, so I could be done by Christmas break.”
The 6-foot-4 250-pound Daniel’s most recent visit went well for North Carolina State. The weather was nice, and the campus was warm enough to move the Wolfpack into a two way tie for the top spot on Daniel’s list.
“I had a really good time there. I really liked it. NC State is in my top two with Virginia Tech now. We did a little of everything, and I really like the feeling I got from the players and coaches. I also like the weather. I want to stay near the warm weather, and it was like 18 degrees in Pittsburgh. I was glad that it was warm there.”
Recently, Daniel has been talking about a possible visit to Oklahoma. However, after the Sooners’ humiliating loss over the weekend, it doesn’t appear that a visit to Norman will materialize.
“I was going to cancel my visit to Kansas State and go to Oklahoma instead,” Daniel said. “I don’t think that I will do that now.”
“In part, it was the game. Kansas State is a good football team, and I want to see them even more now. Also, I have had this Kansas State visit lined up for quite some time now, and I think I should stick by it. Kansas State has recruited me for a while, but Oklahoma was only called me recently.”
Daniel has also started to welcome recruiters into his home. Last week, Daniel hosted four guests, and this week, he is expecting more.
“I met with NC State, Pitt, Florida, and Virginia Tech last week. They all came to my house to talk to me. This week, I know Oklahoma is supposed to come by to talk to me, and also Mississippi State. I will definitely hear them out before I decide what to do.”
The final question of Daniel’s destination might be where he winds up on the field. He says that he has bulked up from 250 pounds, and that he is getting looks now at defensive tackle as well as end.
“I am really being recruited for both positions. They are telling me that they will decide when I get on campus. I don’t think I really care one way or the other right now. I will just go wherever they tell me.”
