Daniel attends Indiana junior day

Indiana's junior day brought in some of the Hoosier State's top talent in the 2013 class. Avon defensive end Elijah Daniel is certainly one of the state's headliners in the junior class, and he talked about his trip to Bloomington Sunday.
"I only stayed for the basketball game," Daniel said. "They had the basketball game and after was the junior day stuff, but I wasn't able to stay for the actual junior day.

"I talked to all the coaches at the basketball game. They were talking to me about life, and then we talked about technique and things you need to do to get to the NFL."
Daniel has two older brothers who have gone through the recruiting process before him, including former Georgia defensive end Montez Robinson. An old connection from Robinson's playing days is helping the Hoosiers in their recruitment of Daniel.
"I can say I am looking more into them because I know Coach [John] Fabris from when he was down at Georgia and coached Montez," Daniel said. "Montez said he is a real good coach and is real hard on you technique-wise, but when it came to game time he just wanted you to go out there and play."
Indiana is one of 13 schools to have offered Daniel a scholarship. His most recent offers have come from Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota and USF.
"Michigan State kind of jumps out from the most recent offers," Daniel said. "I had gone up there for a junior day and just like how they are a defensive-oriented team."
Next on the travel schedule for Daniel is a junior day visit to Ohio State on Feb. 18.
"I'm pretty sure they have great facilities, so it will just be about checking out the city," Daniel said. "I actually did go to Columbus for a basketball tournament, but I don't remember it because it was back in the sixth grade."
Daniel has already traveled extensively during the early stages of his recruitment, but plans to continue evaluating his choices and is not sure exactly when he will make his final decision.
"I'm kind of back and forth on that," Daniel said. "I've been saying at the end of the season, but now I guess I have it in my mind that I want to do it sometime during the season."
