Dallas WR commits to Illinois

Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne wide receiver A.D. Miller entered July with a top six of Miami, Arizona State, Illinois, Cal, Michigan, and Ohio State. He admitted in June Cal, Miami, and Illinois were beginning to separate from the pack.
On Saturday, June 5, Miller announced he was ready to make his commitment at 7 p.m. CT. That is exactly what he did as he began his announcement.

I'd like to thank all the schools that believed in me and gave me the opportunity to play for them. Its been a great experience!- A.D. Miller (@admiller_9) July 6, 2014
He followed up the first tweet with a second.
"But you already know it's about that Orange & Blue!! #IlliniNation," Miller tweeted.
There were a number of reasons why Illinois was his choice.
"It was a great environment," Miller said. "They had everything I was looking for. They had the academics I was looking for. They had a great coaching staff with great personalities that I actually talked almost every day. They had the opportunity that I wanted to play early. It's just a great opportunity and it's a great chance to get to the next level after college and a great environment. They had everything I was looking for so it was the right fit for me."
Miller thought he would be ready to make his decision in August, but the more he thought about it, the more everything began to point towards the Illini
"I just felt Illinois was the right place to be," Miller said. "They had everything I was looking for and I realized some of the other colleges that were in my top five didn't have everything I was looking for. So it was obvious I needed to be at Illinois, so I went ahead and made the decision.
Miller had visits planned to Miami and Arizona State this summer but at least one of those will not be taken.
"I'm not going to take the Miami visit," Miller said. "The Arizona State visit I don't really know. We'll just have to wait and see."
Before making his decision, Miller was able to take unofficial visits to Illinois, Cal, Ohio State, and Michigan. In the fall he plans to take an official visit to Illinois. He has not discounted possible official visits to other schools, but he does not currently have any plans.
Miller chose Illinois over Cal and Arizona State on Saturday, and he feels strong about his decision.
"Right now it's looking like it's the end of the line. This is probably going to be it," Miller said. "But you never know what can happen so I'm just going to have to wait it out. But most likely this is the end."
