Deejay Dallas’ recruitment isn’t dead. It’s just on life support. The Rivals250 athlete committed to Miami, and that commitment seems relatively solid. Dallas has told most other schools “thanks but no thanks.”

But ask him which programs are still alive in his recruitment, and he gives an emphatic but repetitive response.

“It’s Bama, Bama, Bama, Bama and Bama pretty much,” Dallas said. “Well, pretty much. Alabama and maybe UCLA.”

And so Dallas plans to take action. He’ll remain on Miami’s commitment list but take a peak at the Crimson Tide this fall. A travel plan is coming together but not set in stone.

“I’ll probably end up taking an official visit to Alabama because they’re always talking to me,” Dallas said. “If UCLA still wants me to, I might visit them too.”

Dallas, who attends Georgia’s Glynn Academy, is ranked as the No. 182 overall prospect in the 2017 class.

IN HIS WORDS: “With Miami, I was sold on the culture there. It’s the culture and then the staff that they brought in to coach. I had a relationship with Coach [Mark] Richt when he was at Georgia, so that helped too.”

RIVALS REACTION: Dallas’ commitment to Miami seems strong. Should Alabama put the press on during a possible official visit that could change. That said, it would be silly to view Dallas as a soft commit to the Hurricanes, as, at least for the time being, Richt and company are still the overwhelmingly heavy favorites to land his letter of intent on Signing Day.
