Dallas QB Challenge: Top Underclassmen

Recruiting wrap: Harvey is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: Harvey threw only 15 passes in his sophomore season because he was behind four-star Texas A&M signee Kyler Murray, but he should get his chance soon. The 2017 prospect is a fast little bugger who can throw accurately on the run and make all the throws, whether dropping back or rolling out. For someone who's probably a smidge under six feet, Harvey has an impressively strong arm.

DQB
Levi Lewis (2017)
Baton Rouge (La.) Scotlandville
Recruiting wrap: Lewis is new to the recruiting process
Performance: Lewis is an active, fast little lefty who has a strong arm and can put it on targets all over the field. What was most impressive about Lewis was his ability to throw on the run. The 2017 prospect did that well going to his left, probably his more comfortable side, and even rolling right and then hitting the target. For someone who's a little undersized, Lewis has big-time arm strength.

DQB
Dillon Davis (2017)
Aledo, Texas
Recruiting wrap: Davis is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: Davis threw with accuracy throughout the day and finished among the top 10 after the first round of drills. He just narrowly missed the finals, but he was able to show he could put the ball on the money regardless of the drill. Whether it was the deep 43-yard bomb or hitting targets throughout the workout, Davis almost always put the ball right where it needed to be.

PQB
Connor Curry (2017)
Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian
Recruiting wrap: Curry has offers from Clemson and Ole Miss. Texas and others are showing interest.
Performance: Curry puts nice pace on the ball -- not overthrowing just to prove a point, but zipping it. And he did a nice job hitting targets. The 2017 prospect has a slightly odd release point, but that's something he can work on. He's especially comfortable quickly rolling to his right and throwing on the run. That's where he hit most of his targets and looked the best.
6
DQB
Marquise Darensbourg (2017)
Destrehan, La.
Recruiting wrap: Nebraska, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe are three of the schools showing early interest but Darensbourg has no offers so far.
Performance: Darensbourg showed a lot of poise and was at his best on the move. He showed a strong arm and he was able to throw with accuracy whether he was rolling to his right or his left. The 2017 prospect also had a really nice release point and zipped the ball accurately all over the field. Darensbourg rarely threw a bad pass because his mechanics were so solid.
7
PQB
Peyton Mansell (2017)
Belton, Texas
Recruiting wrap: Mansell is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: Mansell does everything like the textbook says. He has great form, great release, spins the ball well, seems to care more about accuracy than just firing it into windows but he also puts nice velocity on all his passes. Throughout all the drills, whether on short or deep passes, Mansell did an impressive job throughout the camp as he showed off consistency everywhere.

DQB
Jalen Mayden (2018)
Sachse, Texas
Recruiting wrap: Houston recently offered and plenty of national programs are interested in him along with his four-star brother in the 2016 class, Jared Mayden.
Performance: Mayden has excellent size at 6-foot-2, 193 pounds and he's still just a freshman in high school. The 2018 recruit has good mechanics, he can throw well on the run and he was especially accurate when throwing to his right. For someone so young, Mayden has good control on his passes. He still needs to polish up his footwork, but with plenty of years left to develop, he's ahead of others in his class.
9
DQB
Bryson Smith (2017)
Tyler (Texas) John Tyler
Recruiting wrap: Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, North Texas and others are showing early interest.
Performance: Smith threw with nice velocity and was at his best on the run. He also did a nice job of keeping the ball high and had a quick release. He's a little skinny, but that has not held him back in the slightest and once he puts on a little more weight he could even have more velocity and zip on all his throws.
10
DQB
Seth Washington (2017)
Dallas (Texas) Episcopal School of Dallas
Recruiting wrap: Washington is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: A lot of prospects did not exactly go full speed in their rollouts and then took an extra split-second to settle and throw on the run, but not Washington. The 2017 prospect did an excellent job getting out of the pocket, rolling around the cone and then throwing on the run. He did it accurately, quickly and hit a bunch of targets. He was definitely one of the quickest QBs in that drill.
