Dallas DE gives soft Big Ten verbal

It appeared that yesterday Dallas (Texas) Hillcrest defensive end Braylon Broughton decided it was time to end his recruiting process with a verbal commitment, but that pledge is not exactly rock solid just yet.
It was the Iowa Hawkeyes and defensive line coach Ron Aiken who received the call from the 6-foot-6, 240-pound defensive lineman and heard the good news about the young man's decision to attend the Big Ten school. However, he also added one other detail.

"My family felt good about going there so we made the decision to do it," Broughton said about his commitment. "At the same time, I'm still looking around and if other colleges offer, I'll check them out too. I'm definitely a soft commitment right now."
Those specific colleges that he is really interested in, besides Iowa, are Kansas, Minnesota, and TCU. He's in the process of getting ready to visit one.
"I'm trying to schedule the visit for Kansas pretty soon," Broughton said. "That would be my first official visit. TCU is right here in Dallas so I'm going to go check them out as well."
The decision was a relief to Broughton, but the humble young man doesn't want to be left behind just because he made a verbal commitment.
"It feels good and bad," he said. "It's good that I've got somewhere to go, but I feel like other colleges will stop recruiting me. Kansas and Minnesota have been there since the get-go, so we'll see if that continues."
