Dallas Craddieth alters plans after Nebraska coaching change

Florissant (Mo.) Hazelwood Central safety Dallas Craddieth planned to start his official visit tour this weekend, but that trip was scheduled to Nebraska which just removed it’s head coach on Saturday. Now, the three-star will kick off his official visits in the month of December with a pair of Big Ten schools.

THE LATEST

Craddieth has scheduled his first three official visits of the process for Nebraska Dec. 1, Iowa Dec. 8 and Illinois Dec. 15. With no coach in Lincoln, the visit to Nebraska this weekend is off. Although Craddieth has several connections at Nebraska, he has not visited the campus since spring of his sophomore year. With three additional official visits now available to him, Indiana will receive strong consideration for one of those spots and Minnesota is also still a possibility, though Craddieth said they have not been pushing for hard for an official visit lately.

IN HIS WORDS

“I’m probably going to stay home this weekend and go visit Iowa and Illinois this week and the week after.”

RIVALS’ REACTION

Craddieth expressed concern about having to build a new relationship with the next coaching staff in Lincoln this late in the process. He plans to bypass the early signing period in December and sign with the school of his choice in February, so Nebraska’s new head coach should have plenty of time to re-establish a connection and work on getting him on campus for a January official visit. In the meantime, this transition has certainly boosted the chances of Illinois, Indiana and Iowa as they look to host the St. Louis-area prospect in the near future.
