Dallas-area RB heavily targetted

When star quarterback John Chiles left Carrollton (Texas) Ranchview High School, the team was certainly not left void of talent. In fact, junior running back Shaka Harris played a shortened season due to a broken vertebrae in his back but still managed to eclipse over 1,000 yards rushing and put his name on the map as a top prospect for 2007.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound speedster racked up 1,047 yards on 147 carries with three touchdowns even through injury. Since then, Harris has been healing up and staying fit. His best friend Chiles is racking up offers and now his mail count is increasing steadily.

"Yeah he's really racking it up," Harris said about Chiles. "We hang out all the time and talk about all of it. But, I'm starting to get mail too now. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Kansas, and Florida have all sent me stuff."
Harris is planning on making trips to Oklahoma State and Texas soon. Those are also his top two teams early.
"They're just showing me the most interest with mail and giving me a whole bunch of mail every day," Harris said. "I'm trying to go down to Texas in March and Oklahoma State said that I probably will get an offer at their junior day."
Harris says that not only is he fast, but strong as he has worked on building himself in the weight room since starting as a sophomore. That earned him second-team all-district honors as a junior.
Other than junior days, Harris wants to make it to combines and camps to show everyone what he can do.
"I'm going to the NIKE Camp at College Station," he said. "I haven't got anything from team camps, but I'm trying to go to some of those too."
