Dallas-area junior getting his share

While many people are already well aware of one 2007 prospect from Plano (Texas) East Senior High School, they may not be aware of an emerging second. Athlete Chris Slater who is getting plenty of interest.
Mail is coming from coast to coast and it's not a surprise because Slater brings talent on the field and off of it. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound speedster was named academic all-district both his sophomore and junior years. He made all-district during his junior year for his athletic performance.

"I'm getting stuff from Iowa, Notre Dame, Duke, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and some others," Slater said. "I heard coach Bob Stoops was at the school and the coaches from Texas A&M are up here quite a bit too."
While both he and his teammate Keenan Robinson are getting heavy recruiting interest, he's not quite sure the direction he wants to take it just yet. A few teams do pop out to him.
"I like Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, and Duke a lot," Slater said. "My uncle went to Georgia Tech and my grandfather is real involved with them. Duke and Notre Dame have great academics, so that's kind of where I'm at with those schools."
Slater has thought about he and his teammate playing their college ball together.
"It's crossed my mind and if the opportunity comes up, we'll do it," Slater said. "Right now we're focusing on next year. We do have similar schools sending us stuff right now though."
