Dale Thompson returns from ASU

Tight end Dale Thompson (6-5, 245, 4.6) from Corona (Calif.) Santiago is living up to his four star status. Already known as a punishing blocker, Thompson has been able to show off his pass catching skills early on this season.
Thompson’s early season performance is drawing rave reviews and now there are some who like him just as much as rivals number one rated tight end Zach Miller (6-4, 240, 4.7) from Phoenix (Ariz.) Desert Vista.

Thompson was selected all-league as junior even though he played most of the season with a cast on due to an injury. Obviously with a cast on that didn’t allow him to catch many passes, but boy did he block. As a junior, Thompson caught six passes for 125 yards and out of his six receptions, he scored three touchdowns.
As a sophomore Thompson was selected all-county and all-league after catching 16 passes for 350 yards and five touchdowns.
So far this season, Thompson has proved himself to be an offensive threat catching 12 passes for 225 yards and four touchdowns in three games in 2003. These stats do not Friday’s game.
Thompson has also rushed the ball twice for 60 yards and one touchdown. His rushing touchdown went for 25 yards.
Thompson has offers from the entire Pac10 (except Stanford), Michigan, Colorado, Nebraska, Utah and just about a week ago the Miami Hurricanes joined the fray with an offer.
Thompson returned from his visit to Arizona State last weekend (October 3rd).
“Dale had a great time,” Dale’s Mom said. “They (ASU) kept the recruits busy from dawn until they went to sleep.”
“I don’t think Dale is going to take anymore trips until the season is over.”
“Besides Arizona State, I will definitely visit UCLA, USC and Colorado,” Thompson said. “My last visit will be between Michigan and Miami.”
