River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Rivals250 2015 safety Hunter Dale saw the recruiting process start early with scholarship offers coming from the likes of Tulane, Arizona State, and Florida before his sophomore season.
After another state championship run at John Curtis, Dale holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Florida, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Tulane, and UCLA. His most recent offer came from the Northwestern Wildcats, and right now he is enjoying the process.
"Everything is going good right now," Dale said. "It's just that everyone is focused on the people who are about the sign - Terrence (Alexander), Mattrell (McGraw), Kenny (Young), and Malachi (Dupre)."
The attention continues to roll in for the standout safety with coaches from Texas, Texas A&M, and USC the latest to show an interest in his talents. He has received a few junior day invitations here and there as well. Alabama, Texas A&M, and Indiana have extended invitations. He was unsure of the dates for the junior days, and was also unsure about whether or not he would be able to attend.
"I don't know right now, but I'm playing baseball so I probably won't be able to make them," Dale said.
In addition to junior day invitations, Dale has also been invited to participate in the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour in New Orleans.
"I think I'll be able to," Dale said. "I don't know it. It just depends on what my baseball schedule might be."
Dale plays outfield and second base for the John Curtis Patriots and college coaches have also taken notice of his abilities on the baseball diamond. Of his scholarship offers, UCLA has already started talking about the possibility of Dale being able to play both football and baseball. The option is an intriguing one.
"Yeah, I'll probably do that in college too," Dale said.
At this time, Dale is keeping his options open on the recruiting front. He is not rushing into a decision and he does not claim any leaders.
