D.C. lineman wants to stay local

Junior To Watch: Jeremy Williams
School: Washington (D.C.) Woodrow Wilson

Position: Defensive end and offensive guard.
Size and speed: Williams is 6-foot-2 and 255 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds.
Honors: Williams was an all-conference selection, and was also named team captain as a junior.
Statistics: At defensive end Williams had 42 tackles and nine sacks in 2002.
Favorite schools: Clemson, Maryland, Nebraska, Syracuse, North Carolina and Georgetown
Skinny: Williams is a strong line prospect that could help someone out on either side of the ball. He will be one of the top linemen in Washington D.C. as a senior.
"I don't know if I have any favorite colleges right now," said Williams. "I'm hearing from some places, so based on the interest I'm receiving I'll say I'm taking a good look at Clemson, Georgetown, Nebraska, Syracuse and North Carolina. I don't want to narrow things down yet and I want all my options to be open.
"I would like to go to college somewhere in the east, whether it be the northeast or southeast it doesn't matter, but that will hurt Nebraska."
Williams bench presses 305 pounds and plays very well on both sides of the line. He could grow into a defensive tackle, which may be best for him on defense, or continue to grow and play along the offensive line. He only knows of one camp he's trying to make it to this year.
"I'm trying to get out to the Maryland camp," he said. "I've looked at it and I don't think it's final yet, but that's the one I think I'm most likely to go to. Our coach in putting together something to do as a team I think, but I don't know what or when that would be.
"I would like to visit all those schools I listed sometime, but it might be a while before I can. I haven't taken any visits yet."
