D.C. corner favors first offer

Cornerback Joelil Thrash out of Washington (D.C.) H.D. Woodson has hauled in his first scholarship. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder is favoring the offer and believes a decision could come in the near future.
"I got my first offer a couple weeks ago from Maryland," he said. "I really like Maryland a lot. They have been very helpful in my recruiting. I go up there a lot and they are very team oriented. I know they have been good on the field and their academics are excellent. They are trying to bring the program back with players from the area."

Thrash believes he could accept the offer soon.
"I think I might wait a couple weeks, but I hope to decide before Nike Camp. I am planning to go to Maryland for the spring game," he said. "I'm also hearing from Illinois and Pittsburgh."
Thrash was a star both ways for Woodson last season.
"I had four touchdowns at receiver for about 400-yards and at cornerback I had five interceptions, 31 tackles, two for loss and a forced fumble," he said. "I had a very strong year. I think I need to work a little more and try to get more tackles. I also want to improve my speed and strength of course.
"I believe I am good in one-on-one coverage. I like man coverage and my speed is good."
