Cyclones land one from Land of Lincoln

Homewood (Ill.) Floosmoor defensive end Bailey Johnson needed only one official visit, a trip to Ames, Iowa, to make his decision.
"I visited Iowa State," Johnson said. "It went real well. I ended up committing.

"I'd been talking to the coaching staff for awhile and had a good feeling about them. Then when I went there I really liked them. I liked the university.
"The defensive line coach, coach Nelson said my chances of starting as a freshman are high. He's a good guy and the head coach is a good guy."
Johnson also had scholarship offers from Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Ball State, and Ohio University.
"I won't visit anybody else," Nelson said. "That wouldn't be right."
The 6-foot-2 and 237-pound Johnson made 90 tackles including 10 sacks during his senior season. He is the No. 30 prospect in the state of Illinois in the Rivals.com player rankings.
