Cyclones impress Texas center

Allen, Texas, offensive lineman J.D. Walton was on official visit No. 2 this weekend and came home me impressed with what his bowl-bound hosts showed him.
“My visit to Iowa State was alright,” the 6-foot-2, 288-pound Walton said. “I had a good time and it was a lot of fun. We got to be around the players and talk with them about being at Iowa State. We also were able to watch them practice in the indoor facility for their bowl game. It was overall an impressive trip."

Walton had a chance to sit down with Iowa State coach Dan McCarney and talk about his upcoming decision.
“I was able to talk with Coach McCarney for about 20 minutes in his office today. He told me how much they wanted me to come there and he told me I had a good chance to play there.”
Despite the good time on the visit, Walton is not ready to make a pick yet.
“I’m trying to get closer to a decision, but I’m not ready yet. I don’t really have a favorite school right now. I want to take my visits and then decide.”
Walton has already visit Colorado State (Nov. 19) and has a trip to Arizona State scheduled for next weekend (Dec. 17).
