Custer is prospect to watch

Antoine Custer was probably not on the radar for a lot of college coaches early this season but he had a tremendous junior year and could see his recruitment take off.
The 2016 running back from Concord (Calif.) De La Salle rushed for 268 yards and four touchdowns to lead his team to the state championship over Corona (Calif.) Centennial last weekend.

He has only received scattered recruiting interest so far but Custer could be a big name to watch this off-season.
"It was really big since I didn't get to play last year because of injury," Custer said. "I wanted to stay in this game and play as hard as I could so I could get my team the championship.
"I was getting some interest from Oregon State, a little bit, but that was the only school I was talking to. I really like Oregon, USC and UCLA. I always liked those three teams.
"I think we're going to visit UCLA and USC so those are going to be two big visits for me."
There is no question Custer has the ability to play at a high level and now after a stellar junior season he can send out his film to show coaches his ability. The highlight tape alone from the Corona Centennial matchup should interest some college coaches and that means offers could be on the way.
He's a phenomenal running back on arguably the nation's best team and Custer said he's excited to see his recruitment take off.
"It could be really big," Custer said. "I didn't play last year so I thought this year I would have to make a name for myself and try to go out there and put on as big of a show as I can and get my team a victory."
In his junior season, Custer rushed 155 times for 1,679 yards and 20 touchdowns.
