One of the top defensive players in the state of New Jersey will be playing in the Carrier Dome next fall.
Kevin Osifchin of Phillipsburg N.J. has given a verbal commitment to play at the University of Syracuse.

"I just liked Syracuse the best of all the schools that have offered," said the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder. "I wanted to make my decision before the season started. It's close to home, the Big East conference is great and I really liked the Carrier Dome when I visited."
Kevin was recruited as a defensive tackle by Syracuse while some of the other schools were looking at him as a defensive end. Did that make a difference in his decision?
"No, I don't care where I play on defense. My decision was based on the fact that I liked Syracuse the best. I felt comfortable with the coaches and players and I kinda like the cold weather. I'm glad I was able to make my choice, now I can concentrate on the task at hand."
Last season Kevin had 69 tackles with 10 sacks. He had 10 offers before making his decision and picked Syracuse over North Carolina State and Duke.
