Elysian Fields, Texas dual-threat quarterback Tim Curry made an early commitment to UTEP back in January, but that doesn't mean that several schools aren't coming on strong with interest as of late.
The 6-foot-4, 192-pounder says that schools such as Iowa State, Illinois, Southern Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Baylor, and Buffalo have all been showing him some attention. Curry says that he's taking in combines and camps while hearing from several of these schools about their interest in his abilities.
"Alabama has sent stuff to the school wanting game film, Missouri, I've started talking with them, and my coach talked to Baylor about me," Curry said. "The Buffalo coach is going to make a special trip down there to watch me in spring football.
"Plenty of colleges have asked for game film."
Curry maintains that he's still committed to the Miners. After speaking with coach Ikaika Malloe, he says he's setting up a future official visit.
"I talked to him and he wants me to fly out there on Sept. 1," Curry said. "That's pretty much a done deal. I'm going to try to go to some later junior days too and a pretty good group of mini-camps. I'm going a couple of NIKE Combines and the Elite 11 workout in a couple of weeks."
The other thing the talented Curry is working on is schoolwork. He recently scored well on the ACT and is now focusing on other work in order to get himself ready for the next level.
"I'm trying to take of all that, like the TAKS test, and then I'm going to start worrying more about where I'm going to go," Curry said. "Once I get these tests done, I'll be ready to get on the road."
