Columbus (Ohio) Brookhaven tight end Jeff Cumberland played an integral part in the Bearcats 15 straight victories and a state championship during his junior season.
The 6-foot-6, 220 pound Cumberland caught 19 passes and scored eight times. This fine athlete also averaged 14 points and nine rebounds per game in basketball this season.
But it's football at the next level for Cumberland.
"I'm interested in Ohio State, Minnesota, Miami of Florida, Michigan State," Cumberland said. "That's about it.
"Illinois offered me. They offered last week. Ohio State didn't actually offer yet, but they talked about it.
"I plan to visit some schools in the spring. I'm going to the NIKE Camp in California in April. I'll probably go to Ohio State and Michigan's camps in the summer."
Asked if he has a favorite school, Cumberland said, "I'd say it's between Ohio State and Miami."
