Cuffee commits to Virginia

In the last month of the recruiting season, few players have received more interest than Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek offensive tackle Billy Cuffee. The 6-foot-5, 330-pounder wrapped up his recruitment today selecting Virginia over offers from Maryland, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, East Carolina and Marshall.
"I called Bob Price, Mike Groh and Al Groh to tell them I was committing to UVA," he said. "They all sounded very excited about my decision and just told me that I made a good choice and they expect me to be a difference maker for their program."

What pushed the Cavaliers over the top for Cuffee?
"There were a lot of things that made me pick them," he said. "I like the fact that it's close to, the atmosphere is nice, the coaches all have great personalities and that I felt good there. Everyone has always told me when you go on a visit you'll be able to tell where you should go because you feel at home and I felt that way at Virginia."
The two-star prospect is glad to have a decision behind him.
"It's a huge burden to finally know where I'm going and to be committed," he said. "Now I just plan to work on everything and continue to improve my game before I head there. The coaches have told me that I should see a lot of playing time my sophomore year."
Cuffee plans to major in communications once he gets to Charlottesville. He had one final note to pass on to Virginia's fans.
"I'm ready to head out there and work hard," he said. "Tell the fans to get ready because I'm coming."
