CU first to offer Houston DB

One of the names that have not gotten the attention it deserves out of Houston this recruiting season is Westbury cornerback/receiver Clyde Edwards.
The 5-foot-10, 158-pound Edwards already has one scholarship offer on his resume and he’s working hard to earning even more. Edwards is hoping that a move offensive side of the ball this season will allow him to do just that.

“Coach wanted to get the ball in my hands more, so he moved me over to the offensive side this season,” Edwards, who is also known as Binky, said. “I still play situational defense when they need me in a big drive, but I’m kind of liking offense.”
Why wouldn’t he?
Edwards turned out big play after big play last Friday night in a disappointing 58-20 loss to Houston Booker T. Washington.
“I played well,” he said. “I scored on a 66-yard pass and then ran a kickoff back 80 yards for a score. I still wish we could have won, though.”
Some team will be lucky and win with his plege.
He’s received calls so far this month from Colorado, Kansas, Rice and Louisiana Lafayette. He has a written offer from Colorado.
“Kansas said it’s going to send me the offer, too,” Edwards said. “I’m excited about this whole process. Colorado is my only official offer, but I’m hoping to get more. I’m still keeping things open and going to go through the process.”
