CT WR to stay home

Bristol (Conn.) Central’s Sean Ware has the size and speed to play several positions at the next level. At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and plays on both sides of the ball in high school. While several schools are showing early interest, an in-state school appears to have the early edge.
“I want to stay close to home, and I am also looking at the academics and a good football program,” Sean stated. “UConn is recruiting my pretty hard right now, but I am also hearing from Boston College, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Penn State.” He grew up cheering for UConn so the strong early interest is mutual.

He attended two UConn games last fall; against Rutgers and Western Michigan. He was not able to attend any camps last summer, but plans to go to UConn and possibly Penn State this year.
A two-year starter for Bristol Central, Ware was a big contributor on both sides of the ball as a junior. He had 70 tackles and four interceptions from the strong safety position and added 23 catches for 450 yards as a receiver. He was named all-conference for his efforts.
An excellent athlete, he is also a star on the track team, where he participates in the high jump and the long jump. Last year he set personal marks of 21 feet 5 ¾ inches in the long jump and 6 feet 2 inches in the high jump.
“I am just a guy that wants to get the job done, and I will do whatever it takes to get it done,” he said. “I just want to help the team out.”
A 3.0 student, Ware plans to major in social work or would also like to become a teacher.
