Junior to Watch: Eric Ball
School: Hamden, Ct.

Position: Defensive tackle/offensive tackle
Size and speed: Ball stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 280 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds and bench presses 315 pounds while squatting 450.
Statistics: As a junior, Ball had 85 tackles and eight sacks on defense.
Honors: All-conference
Favorite Schools: UConn, Maryland, Boston College, Michigan State, Penn State, Miami, Nebraska.
Skinny: Ball is a strong lineman with good mobility. He doesn’t have any offers, but many schools are recruiting him hard.
“BC, Rutgers and Michigan State came around school this week,” he said. “I’m not sure when the others are coming, but a lot of coaches told me they’d see me in May.”
Ball plans on camping at Syracuse, Boston College and Michigan State this summer and has two early favorites.
“I like UConn and Maryland a lot,” he said. “I like what UConn is doing and that they’re local and Maryland is a strong team.”
