CT junior LB leaning in state

Standout athlete Steven Ziogas from Bristol (Conn.) Central stands 6-foot-1, weighs 210 pounds, and runs the forty-yard dash in 4.7 seconds. A two-way starter in high school, outside linebacker appears to be the slot he is most fitted for in college. Several schools have already taken notice of his abilities.
A two year starter at both linebacker and fullback, Steven was named the team’s defensive player of the year as a sophomore. Through nine games as a junior, he has already recorded 120 tackles. He is a very good overall athlete, also participating on the baseball and basketball teams, and he is strong for his size, with a 475-pound squat and 315-pound bench press.

“I am looking for a friendly campus with a good law program,” Steven commented on his college criteria. “I would like for it to be near a city, but not too big.” He also said playing close to home would be nice, but it is not a requirement.
Ziogas has grown up cheering for UConn, but is also very interested in Boston College, UMass, Northeastern, and New Hampshire. UMass and B.C. are the two schools currently showing the most interest. He has attended three UConn games this fall and plans to attend others.
“I try to lead my teammates, and I give 110% all the time,” Ziogas commented on his game-day mentality. “I am always on the field answering questions. I am hard-nosed, and I never give up.” He compares his leadership skills and intensity level to those of Ray Lewis.
Ziogas comes from a family filled with college athletes, so it is only fitting that he should e getting post-secondary attention. His dad, along with two of his uncles played college baseball, while another uncle played college basketball, and yet another uncle played college soccer.
Steven is an excellent student with a 4.0 GPA. He scored a 1,080 on the SAT as a sophomore, but plans to take the test again. He plans to major in political science, but said that will not play a major role in his decision.
