Crummey picks his team

Andrew Crummey told Rivals.com on Tuesday that he could have a decision as early as today. He wasn't kidding around.
"I committed to Maryland today," said Crummey, one of the Top 20 players in the state of Ohio. "I talked to Coach Blackney, my recruiter, and he was pretty excited. I'm really happy with my decision."

Crummey was considering Boston College and Wake Forest before his decision, both of whom had offered him. He tried to reach the coaches at each of those schools during the day, but was not able to.
"There are just a lot of things that factored into my decision. They have an incredible staff and the next four years should just be a great experience. They're really a program on the rise and care about their players. It's good to know I can go to a school that is committed to succeeding against good competition each year."
While Crummey is one of the top offensive guards in the nation at 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, he has a plan for his future outside of football.
"Maryland has a good Politics & Government department, which is what I would like to study in college. The school is really close to D.C. and there are so many opportunities to learn and help out in government services and politics there. It's great to have the opportunity to play for one of the best teams in the nation and have a secure future in terms of things outside of football.
"Maryland is just such a good fit for me. I talked things over with everyone last night and knew this was the right time to make the announcement. I'm a solid commitment for them, so I'm closing my recruitment. I'll tell the coaches at BC and Wake when I can get in touch with them."
