Criss intrigued by the Texas option

It's hard for three-star cornerback Dominique Criss of Arlington (Texas) Bowie high school to keep track of just how many offers he has collected since his recruitment began, but it appears that one school has put a different kind of offer on the table that has him very interested.
Criss, a 5-foot-10, 173-pound defensive back, is very clear on the fact that he'd like to stay close to home. However, his offers have come from everywhere including Baylor, Boston College, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Iowa State, and LSU. Still, the in-state teams have the current lead and one has a specific type of plan on the table.

"Right now it's between Texas, Baylor, and SMU," Criss said about his top teams. "All of them have great education to offer and they're close to home. Texas has been in contact with me a lot. They're waiting on me to see what I do. It's still just a grey shirt offer, but it's looking better and better."
In fact, Criss has said that he will actually make a decision pretty soon even with official visits set.
"I think I'll know within the next couple of weeks," Criss said. "I don't know I'm still planning on some visits. I've got UTEP set for Oct. 22 and Iowa State may be sometime in December."
However, with the Longhorns offering an in-state opportunity it looks like Criss may not be able to pass that up. Criss likes the opportunity to be able to have an extra year to prepare for the Division I level with a grey shirt.
