Creer still visiting Texas

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Rivals100 running back Lennon Creer arrived this afternoon for check-in at the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl with a new twist to his recruiting process.
Previously, the Tatum, Texas runner had been to Oklahoma and Tennessee on official visits. Creer looked like he was heading out-of-state for sure. After being given a deadline by Texas early in the process, the Horns and the 6-foot-1, 202-pounder seemed to have parted ways. Recently, UT made their way back on his favorites list.

Now, he's got a surprise official visit in the works to the in-state school.
"I talked with coach (Ken) Rucker recently and he wanted me to come down there for a visit," Creer said about Texas. "I'm probably going to take that trip as one of my last visits on Jan. 19."
"I've always liked [Texas]. That never changed and I never lost interest in them. I just didn't like the deadline they put me on. I wasn't ready to commit on June 4."
Creer said he also tossed around the idea of making an announcement at this week's All-American Bowl on Jan. 4. It appears that another visit on the schedule has changed those plans a bit.
"I can't really say who's in the lead right now though," Creer said. "I just have a lot of things to decide on."
The schools that are in the mix appear to be Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Florida along with the Longhorns.
The talented Lone Star prospect said that he enjoyed recent in-home visit with Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops and Tennessee coach Trooper Taylor.
"I really like coach Trooper," Creer said. "He was just a really cool guy and a great guy to be around. I also liked with coach Stoops came by."
With Monday being the first day of practice, Creer says that he's going to leave it all on the field.
"I'm looking to go out and work hard from the very beginning," Creer said. "Then I'm going to have some fun at the same time."
