phone calls again.
"I'm real excited about these next few days," said West Laurens'
Garrett Cranford. "We play our first game next Friday, and then coaches
can call again on the first. I think I'm going to be hearing from a lot of
people."
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound
offensive
guard has an offer from Vanderbilt and is receiving heavy interest from
Clemson, South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland and Florida.
"Georgia's probably got to be on top. They've always been my favorite,"
Cranford said. "But as for the rest of my top five, all of the others are pretty
close -- Clemson, South Carolina, Florida, Maryland."
As a junior, Cranford graded out at 90 percent on the season. He possesses
good footwork (5.15) and strength (290 bench, 450 squat), while maintaining
equally impressive figures in the classroom. He's expected to be fully qualified
with a 3.4 GPA and a 1010 SAT headed into his senior season.
