Craig-Myers plans visits

Regardless of when it comes and which team is on the receiving end, Nate Craig-Myers intends to stick to his second verbal commitment. After backing off to his pledge to Auburn this spring, the five-star wide receiver has regrouped. He's currently plotting the rest of his recruitment slowly and taking a long, hard look around at his options. It's why he's in no rush to schedule a slew of campus visits or a hurry to make a decision.

Craig-Myers, the No. 1 receiver in 2016, is working methodically this time around.
The Tampa (Fla.) Catholic High School wide receiver doesn't have a single college trip on his schedule at this time, but will likely set a handful of them upon his return from the Nike Opening, which kicks off in Oregon this week. The list of possible visit destinations includes some schools a bit outside of Craig-Myers' home region.
"I've already seen a lot of schools a lot of time; Auburn, Florida State -- all those, so I'm really focused on the schools I haven't seen yet," Craig-Myers said. "So it will probably be Ohio State and definitely USC and Tennessee. Some others, too."
Public opinion is that Craig-Myers' most likely landing spots are Florida State and Auburn. The standout wide receiver is aware of the prevailing thought. That said, he doesn't mind disputing that line of thinking, even if he does so without a ton of conviction.
"That's not totally true at all," Craig-Myers said. "I don't have any favorites or any leaders to get me."
Craig-Myers says that Miami, Ohio State Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Auburn have been in most frequent contact as of late. He's open to pitches from those programs and others, as he doesn't intend to settle on a school for some time.
"I'll maybe make my decision sometime in January, but it's going to most likely be Signing Day," he said.
What is already set, however, is the criteria Craig-Myers will use to make his final choice. It's cliché, sure, but the top-level prospect shares it publicly with anyone that asks.
"Basically, it's education first," Craig-Myers said. "I'm looking at life after football. That and playing time. Playing time is a big thing."
