Cox shifts focus to recruiting

Angier (N.C.) Harnett Central quarterback Rodney Cox finished up his senior season recently with a solid 12-1 record. With the football season behind him, the 6-foot-6, 228-pounder can now focus on recruiting.
"I just finished up the season and I think everybody on our team played well and gave it their all," he said. "I ended up with 1,800 yards rushing and 1,100 yards passing. I had around 30 touchdowns rushing and 20 some passing. I was much better in the pocket this season."

The three-star prospect already knows of two schools he plans to take official visits to.
"I think I'm going to go after Christmas to North Carolina State and East Carolina," he said. "They are showing me the most interest. I really want to go to those schools to check out the facilities and see how the people and atmosphere is around there, but I would say I'm pretty wide open still."
Currently Cox claims he holds offers from Clemson, East Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Tennessee and others. With no clear favorites, what is Cox looking for out of a school?
"I'm really looking for somewhere that has a spread offense," he said. "I also want a school that I'll get the ball a lot. That's what I'm looking for the most."
