Cox set to trim list

Demetrious Cox, the No. 14 safety in the nation according to Rivals.com, is fresh off visits to Notre Dame and Michigan State and he's just about ready to narrow things down.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound safety from Jeannette, Pennsylvania is the No. 10 prospect in his home state and he has an impressive offer list.

Cox visited Notre Dame and Michigan State over the weekend and spoke about those trips this week.
"I went to Notre Dame first," Cox recalled. "We toured the campus and saw all the traditional stuff like that. We saw Touchdown Jesus, First Down Moses and the church they have Mass in. I sat down with the position coaches but I didn't get to talk to Coach Kelly because he was at a press conference. After that I just looked at everything and went off to Michigan State.
"Michigan State was good. I sat down with all the coaches, like Coach Dantonio and all of them. I saw all the facilities and took a tour the campus. I saw the basketball stadium and all of that. Then I talked to the coaches for a little bit and I talked to a lot of the players."
How would he rate each of the visits on a scale of 1-10?
"I would rate Notre Dame a 6.5 because I didn't get to talk to Coach Kelly," Cox said. "I would rate Michigan State an 8.5."
Cox was hoping to pick up an offer from the Irish heading into the trip. He left campus without that offer. Is he still looking at Notre Dame?
"I am but they're not as high as they were," he admitted.
Cox said he hasn't narrowed things down at all yet. That will come soon.
"This Saturday I'm going to get it down to eight or ten," he said.
