Charlotte (N.C.) Independence pro-style quarterback Joe Cox has numbers that speak for themselves. Cox completed 63 percent of his passes, threw for 3,900 yards and had 43 touchdowns.
Those are impressive enough, but want another shocking stat?
Check out his spotless 16-0 record and a state championship as a junior.
Cox is the latest in the line of great QBs from Independence, and he has a shot to make it to Division I like the others before him.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Cox is already hearing from Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State and several others at this point. He plans to camp this summer at Duke, N.C. State, UNC and Georgia.
“I’m looking for a school with a great academic environment,” Cox, who has a 4.5 grade-point average and a 1140 on the SAT, said. “I also want to see how involved the coaches are with the players.”
Another interesting side note is that both of Cox’s parents attended Duke.
