Cox considers decision or visits

Chans Cox has not officially narrowed down his list but there is a group of programs that the four-star linebacker from Lakeside (Ariz.) Blue Ridge has under serious consideration.
The next step for Cox is to figure out whether he wants to commit before his senior season or drag out his recruitment longer by taking official visits.

It's something the 6-foot-3, 220-pound four-star recruit will discuss with his family in the coming weeks.
"I haven't really made a top list but I'm still talking to those top schools - USC, Washington, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, ASU and Boise State. Those are the schools I've been keeping in the most touch with.
"I'm leaving everything open still but as or right now if I don't commit before the season starts then I'll take my official visits to some of those schools."
Cox, rated as the seventh-best outside linebacker and No. 40 recruit in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, said he's undecided on a decision timetable but added there is a part of him that would prefer to end things early so he could focus on his senior season.
Those discussions with the people close to him will probably happen this summer and then Cox will figure out whether to make his commitment or wait and take official visits to some of his favorite schools.
"Right now it's kind of up in the air," Cox said.
"I'm at the point now where I'm undecided if I'm going to commit to one of those schools before the season or I'm going to take my official visits. This summer it's something I'm really going to talk through with my family and then we're going to see where it stands.
"There's a part of me where it would be nice to commit because then I could focus on my senior year and not worry about all the recruiting. Once I commit, that's where I'm going. It would be nice to get it done."
