Cowart leads team to Big win

BALTIMORE -- Team Renegade came out with guns blazing behind the nation's No. 1 overall prospect Byron Cowart and never relinquished their lead as they claimed the Big Man Challenge championship at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge over Team Clutch, Team Highlight, and Team Blur.

Cowart, who earned defensive line MVP honors, was joined by defensive linemen Chauncey Rivers, Julian Rochester, and Antwuan Jackson. The Renegades' offensive line was led by Rivals100 offensive guard Richie Petitbon, Gregory Little, Jerry Tillery, and Austin Clark.
Renegade jumped out to an early lead after Jackson spun around Alabama-commit Lester Cotton to claim the Big Man Challenge one-on-one title.
Team Highlight fought back in the club/rip event with five-star CeCe Jefferson and Daylon Mack running the fastest times at 1.25. Mack and Jefferson were joined on Team Highlight by Jashon Cornell and Russell Ude and were able to claim first in the event.
Team Highlights' offensive linemen won the pro shuffle event, led by Chuma Edoga's time of 3.59. Ben Cleveland, Josh Wariboko, and Sterling Jenkins also had solid performances. The Renegades' Jerry Tillery posted the fastest time of the event with a 3.12.
Team Renegade claimed the 3-cone drill championship with Clutch grabbing second, Blur finishing third, and Highlight rounding out the order. Renegade was led by Tillery's time of 7.22 and Clutch's Mitch Hyatt posted the fastest time with a 7.07.
To wrap up the action, the teams competed in the Figure-8 drill, and Hyatt and Javon Patterson leading Clutch to the win. Clutch's defensive line also showed strong in the event behind strong efforts from Rasheem Green, Rahshaun Smith, Daron Payne, and Rashan Gary.
