Cornerback Rod Council is one of the best athletes in North Carolina, and has garnered attention from all over the nation. He has three leaders, and official visits are set to each of them.
"Notre Dame, Michigan and Virginia are the three schools that stick out the most," said Council. "I'm going to Notre Dame next weekend for their game against Michigan State. They had a tough game against Michigan Saturday, and I expect them to win pretty big this coming weekend.
"I don't know the exact dates for the official visits to Virginia or Michigan right now. My coach has worked with me on that a lot. I know I will be taking official visits to those two, and maybe two others also."
What is it about those three schools that has them at the top of his list?
"I just like their football programs," he said. "They all have good coaches that are committed to winning big and getting in the national championship race. They all have good engineering departments, which is what I want to major in. There are some other schools I'm looking at, but for academics and athletics those three really stick out."
All three schools, in addition to several others, have offered Council scholarships. When can we expect a decision from the Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte defensive back?
"It will probably be sometime before the end of the season. I don't want to wait too long, which is why my visits are probably going to be pretty soon."
