Could UGA look to south Florida again for a running back in 2019?

Georgia has had some success at running back in south Florida in recent years. Sony Michel just finished his career between the hedges and he signed in 2014. James Cook inked with the Bulldogs in December and he is part of Georgia's No. 1-ranked recruiting class in 2019.

Could Georgia look down that way again? Michel is out of Plantation American Heritage and Cook is out of Miami Central.

About 10 miles up the road from Miami Central is Carol City, the home to Nay'Quan Wright, Rivals' No. 1-ranked all-purpose back in the country.

Wright missed the 2017 season with an ankle injury, but he showed at the Rivals 3-stripe camp presented by adidas Sunday that he is back. Georgia is recruiting him and you can expect at least one Bulldog coach to check on him this spring.

"Georgia is coming at me hard and nothing ever changed with them even though I was injured," said Wright. "Everything happens for a reason and it is a blessing that I am healthy now. Georgia, and really all of the schools stayed with me, so I like that. Everything is getting back to normal for me now."

So many recruits in south Florida know each other and Wright was close with Cook. The talented junior followed Cook's recruitment and with him headed for Athens, that only helps the Bulldog's chances with Wright.

" James is my boy, so him going there, and knowing if I went there, I would have him there too on helps Georgia be on my radar.

"I was a little surprised that James went to Georgia and not Florida State, but after looking at it, I see now. He just wanted to do what is best for him and he felt Georgia is the right place. That is what I will do too."

Wright has family in the Atlanta area and he visited Athens once before he started his high school career. He plans to hit the road again this spring and Georgia is a school he wants to visit.

The vibe will be important to him.

"I want to get back up to Georgia to see what it feels like," said Wright. "I will go anywhere. I just want it to feel like home to me.

"I have watched them on T.V., I know about their history, I know about their running backs and it is a school I plan to visit again."

Wright made it clear that he has no favorites right now and that all schools are on his "radar" right now. The four star plans to be busy this spring and summer as he is aiming for a late summer decision.

"I would like to commit to someone in August. That is what I am thinking about. I will take some visits, then just see how I feel.

"I have been talking to coach [Dell] McGee (running backs) and he is a cool guy. He has talked to me and my coach and he is showing a lot of interest, so Georgia is a school that is definitely on my radar."
