Could Shelton pop soon

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive lineman Michael Shelton stopped by the office at Student Sports earlier today to borrow a pair of football cleats and gave us his thoughts on his upcoming visit to Cal.
Shelton, 6-3, 215 pounds is having a big senior season and ended the regular season with a bang last weekend with four sacks against Downey. Next up for Shelton will be a 1st round playoff game this Friday against West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade and their talented quarterback Chris Turner.

“They like to throw the ball a lot so that’s good for me,” Shelton said. “I love rushing the passer so when we play a passing team, my eyes get real wide and I get all excited about getting a couple of quarterback sacks. That’s what I love to do.”
After his game with the Eagles, Shelton will take his first official visit of the year to Cal for the Bears Big Game with Stanford.
“My mom wants me to take all my trips but I’m also thinking about committing if everything goes right,” Shelton said. “I just want to see how it goes and I would kind of like to take a few more visits also. I like Arizona a lot too, those are really the two main schools I’m considering. We’ll see though, if I feel Cal is the best place for me and I’m comfortable, I could commit but I do really want to check out Arizona before I do anything.”
