Cougars take two from Metroplex

There is a great tradition of players from Euless (Texas) Trinity moving on to the next level and next in line is linebacker Brendan Pahulu, according to coach Steve Lineweaver.
Pahulu committed to Houston on Sunday, according to Lineweaver.

“This might be one of the biggest steals in the state of Texas,” Lineweaver said of his 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker. “I think he was probably going to end up at Arizona if it wasn’t for the coaching change there. Then A&M came in on him late and was going to try to get him to visit next weekend, but he went ahead and committed to Houston.”
Pahulu is in the same mold as former Trinity star Lee Foliaki, who is heading to A&M. While Pahulu might not be as polished at this point his upside is high.
Pahulu will be joined at Houston by Ft. Worth Dunbar defensive tackle Phillip Hunt. Hunt visited Houston this weekend and joined the commit parade for the Cougars.
“It’s a great fit for me,” Hunt said.
