Cougars score again in Texas

Silsbee, Texas, offensive lineman Daniel Paulus is the next piece of the Houston Cougars' 2008 recruiting puzzle.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive lineman committed to the Conference USA champions this weekend, joining his teammate and 2007 commit B.K. Johnson.

"I've heard B.K. is doing well on campus and we are expecting big things from Daniel this season," Silsbee coach Bobby McGallion said. "He started last season and was a first-team, all-district selection."
Paulus joins Friendswood's Cameron Kaufhold and Aledo's Ethan McMillan as the Cougars' verballed offensive lineman.
"We run an option-oriented offense and the coaches like how he comes off the ball," McGallion said. "He explodes off the line and keeps his pad levels low. He has great fit and is tremendously powerful. He's a sleeper."
Paulus was also offered by Louisiana-Lafayette and several Division I-AA schools.
